I understand that money is one of the biggest problems for single moms, but I also know circumstances are temporary and we have the power to change them!
4 Books You Should Read to Get Better with Money
You are a Badass at Making Money - I’ve completed this one already and highly recommend!! Jen keeps it real and I can feel her tone throughout the book. There were several times when I said yes Jen, yes!! This book has literally caused me to shift my mindset and think outside the box when it comes down to increasing my income and living the life I desire. Jen also helps you to reframe your beliefs around money and use positive affirmations.
We Should All Be Millionaires - This book has been highly recommended all over social and I have had it on my list since June and finally got it! It was gifted to me a few weeks ago and I had no idea what to expect. Rachel is the real deal! She is a black mom that is married with a bonus child and believes all black women have the ability to create wealth! The introduction alone had me like come onnnn Rachel! Before reading this book, I thought was okay with having six figures as a goal. Now, I know that six figures is not enough if you desire to create generational wealth, have economic independence, life the life you desire, and contribute to charitable organizations that work with causes you care about! She also breaks down wealth and rich where they don’t equate to money, but does equate to time, energy, peace, and joy!
The Psychology of Money - I’ve seen some of my favorite personal finance creators post about this one and how it has helped them understand their behavior around money. It’s currently a bestseller! The author shares stories about people and their thoughts around money and teaches you how to make better money decisions. It lays the foundation for understanding saving/investing money and why it’s a habit. I’m excited to read this one.
Clever Girl Finance: Learn How Investing Works - I plan to read this one at the end of the month because I want to have a better understanding of investing outside of my employer’s 403B! I know the author is very passionate about financial literacy since I’ve followed her before she made all the courses free on her site! The book teaches you how investing works, what you should be doing, and how to build wealth! It should be a great introduction to the world of investing!
Bonus: Broke Millennial Takes On Investing - This one is also on my list. Erin, the author, discusses investing while paying off debt, robo-advisors, investing apps, where to find the best investment advice and so much more!
Have you read any of these? What books are on your list to help you get better with money? Let me know in the comments.
